Barlings Beach Holiday Park

Barlings Beach is an excellent destination for families and their fury friends!! It's quiet, safe and the beach is magnificent for swimming, standup paddling boarding, walking and its perfect for dogs. The staff at Barlings Beach is very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in Tomakin House and there was plenty of room for our family of 7.

Booked a "deluxe studio beachcomber cabin" their description (219). From the moment we opened the door it smelt like the smoking room at an international airport. We cracked the windows, grabbed the air freshener from the car and headed to the beach whilst it aired out. Got back, it still smelled like stale smoke, it was in the curtains and no matter what we did we couldn't get rid of the smell. Also their was mould in the shower and the cabin was in terrible condition (photos attached). Main bathroom light didn't work and the soap dispenser in the shower was empty. We won't be back and I'd recommend everyone else be careful, we booked two nights and only stayed one because the smoke stench in the cabin was so bad. $200 a night for a run down, smoke stenched cabin.

We just completed a 3800km road trip and stayed at 9 different places. This was by far the WORST accommodation we have ever stayed in. At 7:05pm we had both our kids in the bath and wanted to get them out to get them to bed, only to discover there were no towels at all in the whole house. I called the after hours emergency number to get towels brought to us, to which we were told some would be brought down and no apology was given at all. At 7:36pm I had to send a text asking when to expect them as I hadn’t heard anything and at this point the kids were freezing cold as the heater doesn’t reach the whole house, and as we were unsure of how much hot water was available and still had two adults to shower. Overall it took 50 minutes of tired and cold kids until we finally were brought some towels, only to still not be given an apology, not even a little ‘sorry’. The front security screen did not lock, and the laundry security screen had the lock broken off sitting on the floor. The kitchen blind made me gag with the smell when I rolled it down, however we had to leave it down for privacy and deal with the smell. The beds were the most uncomfortable I’ve ever felt and the main bed was falling apart underneath. The main bedroom light also flickered. The main bedroom door doesn’t stay open which then stops any warmth from coming in, we needed to hold it open with a suitcase. The toilet leaked constantly keeping us awake through the night and wasting so much water. There was a large hole in the hallway wall from the door handle which hasn’t bothered to be repaired however this is the least of the problems. The fact we received no apology whatsoever for the towel situation and our kids having to be in that situation was not acceptable at all. I could not recommend more to avoid this place!

Quite impressed with the location and the amenities of this place! It also seems that this place is attractive to many people with a lot of friendly people staying here! Laundry room is a little wonky, you need to have Alipay or Wechat Pay to actually pay for some of these machines, which wasn’t too convenient to download! Electricity boxes and water were full of spiders (understand that its normal so this isn’t a very big point) but there was good water and electricity for our motorhome! Generally there was a beach nearby as well, making the place beautiful and nice to stay in! The staff were also easily reached and helped us!
